27 volunteers from UPPC lent their energy and talents to help Habitat for Humanity Pierce County at the “Woods Project” in Midland, Tacoma on Saturday, October 22nd. This small community is built entirely by Habitat and includes a playground, family gardens, and a community center.

habitat-2It was a great day as volunteers painted a house, put the sheathing up on another, and painted the interior of the Commons House (the community center). The weather was beautiful on that day and the volunteers enjoyed their day serving the Lord by building for serving others. Thank you volunteers…..God Bless.

 

Leap of Faith

“Big Challenge.” The event challenged volunteer teams to rappel from the top of the Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma– some 26 stories or 250 feet. Over 70 volunteers met the “Big Challenge,” making it down the side of the hotel.

 

The Habitat “Big Challenge” was a huge success, raising over $92,000 to support the building and projects of Habitat for Humanity Pierce County Chapter. Thank you all for your generous donations and prayers.
